Who we are
We are a paranormal investigation team called Dark Siders, and we specialize in researching unexplained activity in homes, businesses, and historic locations.
We use a combination of scientific equipment, historical research, and investigative methods to document and understand possible paranormal activity. Our goal is to help people who are experiencing unexplained events and to preserve stories tied to haunted locations.
We started this team because we’ve always been fascinated by the unknown and wanted to offer respectful, serious investigations for people who are scared, curious, or want answers.
We approach every case professionally and with respect - using tools like EMF meters, cameras, and audio recorders - and we always provide clients with our findings.
If you or someone you know is experiencing something unusual, or if you just want to learn more about our work, we’re always happy to talk or collaborate.
THE BEGINNING
It all began with a visit from a little boy that wasn’t supposed to be in my house.
I was in my office that’s located in our finished basement of our home. I had the office door open, and my wife was sitting on the steps talking to me. She was facing me and as I stood up to shut off the light, she screamed at the top of her lungs. It was that bloodcurdling scream that made me turn the light on in milliseconds. I asked what happened and in tears, she said she saw a little boy sitting in my chair.
I believe in spirits and the afterlife, so when she said what she said, I believed her. And since she had tears in her eyes, I knew she wasn’t joking. Not going to lie, I was a little freaked out. Especially since she saw the boy in the same chair I was sitting in.
For a while, everything was normal. Almost to the point where the whole thing was forgotten. Until one morning, my wife went to the basement to get something out of the dryer. As she was getting ready to go up the stairs, the dryer door opens on its own. She looked over to the dryer and ran up the stairs without hesitation. There were some sounds here and there that she heard throughout this time. But I never experienced anything. Neither did my two boys.
I bought my wife a puppy she named Baxter, because she had always wanted a dog for the house. It wasn’t long after getting Baxter that he was at the top of the basement steps, looking down and barking. No one was down there. At times, he would lay on the floor and jump up and barked his head followed something, that we couldn’t see, down the stairs.
Then comes Mason. His room is down stairs, and he started to see things also. When he told me the first time, it wasn’t his actual first time. He told me he’s seen and heard things down there before. So now my wife and one of my sons is seeing and hearing this “ghost.” It took a long time before I started getting my fair share of this spirit.
I was sitting down in the basement watching a movie alone. I love horror films, but this was a war movie. As the credits started to scroll, I hit the home button on the remote and for a few seconds the screen was black. While looking at the reflection on the TV, I saw the lower torso of a person. I quickly spun my head around to see nothing and in the same breath, I turned back towards the TV. Of course the home screen was on so I couldn’t see any reflections.
As time went on, we had little experiences here and there. It was never an everyday thing. Never more than maybe 5 days in a row with some type of activity. We could go weeks, even months without anything happening. Our boys told us once that they used to hear my wife call for them, but she wasn’t home. Yeah, that’s not creepy! But I can honestly say that whatever or whoever it is that’s living in my house is not trying to hurt us or scare us. It’s just living among us.
We hear footsteps above us when I’m in the basement, or in the living room. Things move, get knocked down, shadow figures and lights turning on and off. But it’s really nothing malicious. This wasn’t my first rodeo with spirits. My parents have an entity in their house that my mom calls “Robert”. Whenever I visit them, my dad tells me how he hears “Robert” moving around upstairs when no one is home.
THE START OF SOMETHING BIG
15 years later, after that first experience of spirit activity, Covid hits the United States. We’re in a country wide lockdown. Can’t go to work, can’t be around family and friends, and neighbors are hesitant to come out. We use Zoom, Google Meet, basically any means to see our loved ones and friends because being stuck in the house is fun at first, but it got restless. Going to the store for no reason. Just to get out and see people. I remember doing Zoom party calls with my friends and drinking whiskey like we were all in the same room. It wasn’t the same. But it was better than nothing. My favorite part of Covid was at night. I used to go on YouTube and watch scary videos. Some of those videos were obviously fake, but then there were the ones that had you question life itself.
I came across a video about this app that people were using during Covid where you think about something, then it gives you coordinates to a random place. It was called Randonautica. What made me believe in this app was seeing news footage of a girl playing the app and found a dead person in a suitcase. Then other people started finding things and I went on this INSANE rabbit hole looking this app up.
This one Youtuber named Jasko caught my attention. He had a ton of videos of him going places with the Randonautica app. One video, he was with another Youtuber named CJ Fasion. They were in Arizona in the desert somewhere and they came across a small cemetery and seen two headstones with the name Honeycutt on them. CJ went crazy saying he bought an abandoned farm called The Honeycutt Farm. So I went to CJ’s page and that was when I knew I wanted to be a ghost hunter. He had a bunch of videos of him going out and having these paranormal experiences.
I used to watch Ghost Hunters and I loved the show. I just never had the thought of doing anything like that. After seeing CJ, a regular guy going out with his camera and recording his ghostly adventures, I wanted to do it also. There are a lot of places near me that are abandoned and creepy. The one that popped into my head was the New York Farm Colony. I’ve been there with another friend, but we were trying to scare people. This time, I wanted to investigate it.
THE DARK SIDERS
When I told my son, Mason that I wanted to go on a ghost hunt and he said he wanted to do it also, I couldn’t explain the excitement that filled my soul. Our first time there as a “ghost hunter” was amazing. I felt nervous and excited at the same time. Nervous because that place was creepy as hell. It was dark, deathly silent and I remember stories of Devil worshippers that used to roam those grounds. Excited because I was exploring this creepy ghost town with my son. Going into the buildings and just seeing the decay and that feeling like you’re being watched was an adrenaline rush. We explored a few buildings and called it a night because we didn’t want to explore too much. We did more exploring than hunting, but seeing the way everything looked, creeping around building to building and sharing the experience with my son was more than enough for me.
We went back to the Farm Colony a few times before I mentioned to Mason about going to the Conference House and the woods by my parents’ house. Our first video, I used my phone and an old camera my dad gave me, to record our investigations. The videos you see on our YouTube are mostly with my dad because Mason had foot surgery and couldn’t walk for a while. Once he was ok, we where going hunting twice a week. We only went out in the fall/winter time. Ghost hunting in the summer is too annoying with moths flying towards our lights and in our faces. Then you got mosquitoes and ticks. Not to mention those lovely spiders that hang from trees or made their home just eye level so you can walk into them.
Going to these places in our backyard of New York City made me want to go outside the boundaries. New Jersey had a lot of history and haunted places of their own. And it was just minutes away from us. At this point, we were hooked. My dad started us up with getting us our first night vision cameras, lights and everything we needed. Then I added things like wireless microphones, other cameras, EMF detectors, REMPODS and other devices. We were getting very serious about this.
STILL GOING
I came up with the name Dark Siders because I knew we needed a name for our team. We are huge Star Wars fans, so Dark Siders fits in perfectly. “Welcome to the Darkside”. It was always a father and son thing. Mason and I went out there and explored without cameras. We just went to these locations and gained experience. But our first video that was actually not meant to be a video, was when I went to the Spy House in New Jersey with my friends Joe and Richie. I had no idea Joe was recording on his phone. Richie and I were too locked in doing a spirit box session to notice what Joe was doing. Once Joe showed us the recording, I asked that he send it to me and I edited the video. I put it up on YouTube to show them how it looked. That’s when it all clicked in. Dark Siders will be a ghost hunting team on YouTube.
With Mason and I going out to different places, we picked up a few helpers on the way. Joe and Richie are long time friends of mine, my dad, Mason’s friend Nino, my niece Adriana, Cam, Ryan and Tara. We love ghost hunting so much that we take people along with us to share the experience.
We have a TON of videos that I need to start editing. I know, I’m slacking off. I’m trying to make Dark Siders a household name. Not only have we been to old abandoned hospitals, farms, woods and forests, cemeteries and ghost towns, but we had people call us to investigate their home. House calls are the best.
We got merchandise that we are working on. Shirts, hoodies, tumblers, keychains and hats. You name it and we’re working on it. I purchased our domain name, started our own website, got us personal business email addresses, and a business phone line. My wife Jenny is our location manager, my dad helps with the history of our locations, we even got sponsored by DUBBY energy drink! So when I say I’m trying to do big things, I mean it.
For the Dark Siders, ghost hunting isn’t just about spirits and hauntings. It’s about family, friends, curiosity and uncovering the stories left behind. This is something we love to do. Explore the unknown and make contact with the other side. Yes, it’s me and Mason going out there and bringing good content to your screen. But it’s a family. I’ve been friends with Joe and Richie for almost 30 years. They are my family. Nino has been by Mason’s side since high school. He is family. Everyone we meet along the way; becomes friends and we take with us on our journey to explore. the spirit realm. And what we want is for you, the subscribers, to enjoy the same thing that we enjoy. Getting spooked out and making contact with spirits. Follow us on Instagram, X, and TIKTOK for all the latest updates for our YouTube channel.
